Services
Christ Centered 12-Step Recovery
Recovery Outreach Mission now facilitates Christ centered 12-step recovery meetings, free of charge, open to the general public in the Norfolk / Virginia Beach area.
We utilize the Celebrate Recovery materials and meeting models, developed by Rick Warren and the Saddleback Community Church.
General meetings are provided from 7pm-8pm and more in depth, gender specific groups are held for from 8pm-9pm for men, in a separate meeting for women in order to discuss and process issues which may be inappropriate for discussion in a general group population.

Meetings are discussion group style, completely anonymous, and cover multiple topics, and serve those with addictions, childhood trauma and abuse issues, eating disorders, anger management issues, pornography and sexual addictions, stress management and any hurts, habits or hang ups with which people need support

Helping the Homeless
Right Now - We will provide homeless citizens of Hampton Roads, free of charge:
- A warm blanket
- A Jacket
- A nutritious food pack
- A bottle of water
- Clean socks
- A warm hat and gloves
Many of the homeless in the Hampton Roads area are too acutely ill, intoxicated, or too far away to access the region's shelter facilities.
In addition - many of the area shelters are gender specific, and homeless families are unable to gain admission without being split up.
After 7pm, when the last of the area shuttles have left for the shelters - many homeless people are left behind. Members of the Recovery Outreach Mission who are working the 8th and 12th recovery steps fill our van with blankets, jackets, and packets of food.
We drive the streets of Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach, and hand these items out to the local homeless who are not staying in the shelters.
Due to the fact that many of the homeless people we approach are acutely mentally ill or intoxicated, only trained members of Recovery Outreach Mission who are 18 years of age and older normally participate in this activity
